Your Next Move: Psychological Fitness Programme
Psychological fitness for what happens next.
Your Next Move: Psychological Fitness Programme is an eight-session taught programme for young people aged 14–16 in Pupil Referral Units, alternative provision and targeted secondary settings.
Through discussion, realistic scenarios, practical activities and guided reflection, young people learn to better understand what happens in difficult moments and develop skills to regulate, recover and adapt.
The programme moves from strengths and emotional awareness through thinking, listening, regulation and consequences to psychological flexibility, hope, goals and agency.
Psychological fitness for what happens next. Young people in alternative provision are often given plenty of opportunities to talk about behaviour.
**Your Next Move **starts somewhere different.
This eight-session taught programme helps young people aged 14–16 develop the psychological skills that sit underneath how they respond to pressure, setbacks, conflict, uncertainty and difficult moments.
Designed for Pupil Referral Units, alternative provision and targeted secondary settings, each 50–60 minute session combines conversation, realistic scenarios, practical skill-building and personal reflection.
The programme begins with the young person rather than the incident. Young people in alternative provision are often given plenty of opportunities to talk about behaviour. Your Next Move starts somewhere different.

About the organisation
Bounce Forward
Bounce Forward is the UK’s psychological-fitness charity.
We help children and young people — and the adults and environments around them — develop the understanding, skills and shared language to regulate, recover and adapt through challenge, change and everyday life.
Our work brings together mental resilience and emotional wellbeing, shifting the focus upstream: building capability before crisis, rather than waiting for something to go wrong. We translate evidence from psychology, resilience research, cognitive behavioural approaches and positive psychology into practical learning that can be taught, modelled and used in real life.
From evidence-informed curricula and staff development to family support and whole-community approaches, our work recognises that young people do not develop in isolation. What happens around a young person shapes what becomes possible within them.
Everything we create is practical, grounded in evidence and designed to build something that lasts — psychologically fit people and communities, better prepared to meet life.
